SA GRN Users

The SA Government Radio Network is planned to replace some of the existing radio systems in place for government agencies. Some of the agencies that will use the GRN are:

Emergency Services

Other Agencies

Forestry SA (as well as some private Forestry organisations with fire fighting units)

Department of Human Services:

    • Family and Youth Services
    • Hospitals

Department for Environment and Heritage:

    • Parks and Wildlife
    • Environmental Protection Authority

Primary Industries:

    • Agriculture
    • Fisheries
    • SA Research & Development Institute

The Department of Corrections

The Sheriff's Office of the Courts Administrative Authority

SA Water

Royal Flying Doctor Service

Surf Live Saving Association

Some Local Councils

Passenger Transport Board

Transport SA

Adelaide Convention Centre

Rescue One Helicopter

Medstar Retrieval Service

It is expected that once the network is fully established it will have more than 50,000 users connected, with the capability to handle more. Programmed into all radios are a number of common talkgroups and simplex channels, these give users from all agencies the ability to communicate with each other.
