Multi Agency Simplex Channels
Multi Agency talkgroups and simplex channels are programmed into
all radios on the SAGRN. These are used when local communications are
required between agencies.
Multi agency talkgroups are allocated based on the area they
are being used. The allocation is designed around the SAPOL Local
Service Area boundaries, and agencies do not need permission to utilise
these talkgroups. If additional multi agency talkgroups are required,
they can be allocated by the SAPOL communication centre on talkgroup
017.

Repeater Channels
Five P25 repeater channels have been set aside for use with a
portable or stand-alone repeater, these are common to all SAGRN radios.
The repeaters will be used as a backup should a wide area GRN outage occur.
Repeaters have been established at high sites to give maximum coverage
at Berri, Victor Harbor, Port Lincoln, Tanunda, Mt Gambier, Pt Pirie
and Mount Lofty.
The repeater channels can also be used as simplex channels by using the
'direct mode', when used this way the receive frequency will also
become the transmit frequency.
