CFS/MFS Direct Paging

The 'Adelaide Fire' Communications centre located in the Metropolitan Fire Service Headquarters building in Wakefield street Adelaide handles the Call Receipt & Dispatch for all CFS and SES units throughout the state.

GRN  paging is used to send response pager messages to CFS, SES and MFS retained crews.  Metropolitan MFS appliances are responded via their own appliance mounted terminals..

The format for this message can be broken down as:

MFS: = Communications centre where the page originated from

*CFSRES = This text is required to activate the SAGRN pagers on the response tone, it is automatically included on all response messages

INC 018 = Automatically generated daily incident number

09/06/11 08:06 = Date and time the page was generated

RESPOND Vehicle Accident = Incident type

41 MULGUNDAWAH RD,MURRAY BRIDGE= Location

MAP 350 A13 = UBD Map reference

TG195 = Talkgroup to be used for this incident

CAR V STOBIE, BELIEVE NO RESCUE = Any additional information

MRB029 MBR721= Short name station codes for the resources responding, in this case it is Murray Bridge SES and Murray Bridge MFS

Once the pager message is received the CFS brigade or SES unit must initiate contact with the 'Adelaide Fire' communications centre and notify them they have received the page, if this is not done within six minutes the next nearest resource will be responded. This ensures a response always occurs.
